EP 10: Are You Better than Judas?: Can You Be godly with Money?

EP 10: Are You Better than Judas?: Can You Be godly with Money?

Hey Faith Tribe! We’re on EP 10 and we’re talking about “Are You Better than Judas?: Can You Be godly with Money?” on the podcast which delves deep into conversation about my own journey + struggles with wanting my own desires more than God in many instances, my crazy upbringing which led to a lot of sinful learned behaviors, the in-betweens as a Lukewarm Christian, and the Biblical view on the dangers of wealth + the separation it causes because of the things offered/attached with it [I.e. arrogance in it’s protection, trust in it’s opportunities/provisions, service to get/keep it, pride in it’s “blessings”, greed in it’s fear of running out, + stinginess in it’s desire to remain]. WATCH NOW!

YOU CAN’T SERVE TWO MASTERS — “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other.” —— Matthew 6 : 24

We also delve deep into the Parable of the Seed + the Sower in Matthew 13 : 22 where Jesus shares the analogy of 4 types of hearers of the Word and the dangers of not being “good soil”.

Then, you have Jesus talking about the Fig Tree in Matthew 21 : 18 – 22 : The story of Jesus cursing the fig tree is a parable that symbolizes judgment and rejection.

It also teaches that religious observance [or behavior modification] alone is not enough to guarantee salvation.

TOP QUESTION: If you had to choose——would you want to have a place in heaven [aka Jesus] or money for the best life possible?

To tie things together, we discuss who Judas was, how he fell into the 3rd type of hearer from the Sower + the Seed Parable, how we’re more like him than not, + more.

VERSE OF THE DAY: Young Ruler Parable [Matthew 19 : 16 – 30] — Point is: Jesus KNOWS WHAT YOU NEED + God is Just. Trust, Believe, + Have Faith in Him.

At the end of this episode——the biggest question we’ll be left asking ourselves is: would I give up EVERYTHING to follow Him?
